“This probably isn't what stans of Supreme expected when word on the street filtered through that the iconic New York streetwear label was reuniting with Kate Moss. But it's still a good one, nonetheless. For the uninitiated, the British supermodel's portraits plastered on Supreme tees in the past have all risen to grail status amongst collectors. Try finding a pristine condition tee print of hers from the brand that doesn't cost as much as your smartphone (in this economy, perhaps you can). It's also the reason why fakes featuring her imagery with the Supreme branding continue to exist. There are less than a handful of original prints featuring Moss in the last three decades under the Supreme banner, each one that celebrates the supermodel as this generation's version of a pin-up girl. Now, the brand isn't launching more tees of Moss to flood the marketplace. It is playing up to the cold weather programme that is creeping up on us soon with the launch of fleece jackets and blankies that celebrate the original cool girl, who just hit the milestone age of 50 earlier this year. Expect her signature smoulder to plaster the back of these cosy fleece jackets in white or red as well as a print from 2006 that is reused on these 2024 blankets. And why blankets, you wonder? According to a famous quote by Moss: “It's all about the blanket. Blanket, pillow, and red wine.” Sound life advice indeed.
