SUPREME

Now a globally recognised brand SUPREME was launched in 1994 by James Jebbia in New York City. Initially the house focused on skater and downtown youth culture as its inspiration and target audience. Initially the space curated multiple brands and progressively evolved into its own brand. Renown for its collaborations with video games, artists and high profile design houses SUPREME was catapulted into the stratosphere. Louis Vuitton, Takashi Murakami, Yohji Yamamoto, Burberry, Comme des Garçons, A Bathing Ape, Fender Stratocaster guitars, Nabisco Oreo cookies, make-up artist Pat McGrath along with many others created limited edition collections that sold out within moments to an eager audience. With its readily recognised red box logo as its calling card SUPREME remains relevant today.

GORE-TEX

After leaving the DuPont company Bill Gore established his own startup company W. L. Gore & Associates in the basement of his home. There he and his wife experimented with PTFE or polytetrafluoroethylene. Eleven years on, it was Gore’s son that made the breakthrough with expanded PTFE. Among its many attributes this microporous material is permeable to vapour, liquid-proof and possesses superior weathering properties. The 1970’s saw the initial products made with GORE-TEX as plumber’s tape and miniaturised coaxial cables. The first garments constructed with this miraculous product didn’t occur until 1976 in the form of jackets marketed to outdoor enthusiasts. When NASA launched Space Shuttle Columbia the astronauts wore spacesuits that incorporated GORE-TEX fibre. To this day GORE-TEX continues to innovate and the vast range of product categories utilising this technology continues to expand.

Listing Description

A great looking and very protective raincoat that will block out the rain featuring the peerless water-repellent Gore-Tex layer. The base colour is an earthy mocha tan with a fine all-over fine floral print in tonal brown and a graphite black that’s both subtle yet lending a design layer to an otherwise very straightforward and minimalist silhouette. The length is mid way between a car coat and a full tilt classic macintosh and the perfect layering piece over workwear or casually with jeans. A small discrete “SUPREME” spellout logo at the exterior left breast and a graphic “GORE-TEX” spell out logo on the back adding a bit of interest and edginess. Front closure secured by five hidden placket buttons. Gore-Tex lining is branded with SUPREME and GORE-TEX in a tone on tone satiny black. Single interior welted left breast pocket and vent at hem. The adjustable strap cuffs are secured by two black buttons. A boxy silhouette that allows layering in cooler weather. A puffer vest, hoodie, sweatshirt, jumper (sweater), fleece or an overshirt would look great in conjunction with this piece. Brand new without tags this coat has never been used. In pristine condition, no damages, stains or odours (smoke, fragrance or otherwise). Tagged size medium but please consult flat measurements provided below for a perfect fit. As a limited edition collaborative piece the production numbers were very low and now this design is long since retired. *This item will possess additional full liability insurance and signature required delivery due to its higher price point.
