TG&Y SUPREME button-down shirt 100% polyester size 16.5 permanent press 1970s
This is a previously-owned, adult (size 16½), yellow, short-sleeve, button-front shirt. It measures approximately 26 inches (from underarm seam to underarm seam), about 33 inches from back collar to bottom, and is in great condition (TG&Y Supreme brand, 100% polyester).
TG&Y Stores Company was an Oklahoma City-based fashion retailer. They opened their first variety store in Norman, Oklahoma, in 1936. In order to be more competitive in the 1980s, TG&Y changed some of the outlets to be comparable to department stores. However, the company had many financial difficulties. In 1986, the McCrory Corporation of York, Pennsylvania, bought the 730 TG&Y outlets, which brought about the closure of some Oklahoma stores and warehouses. In 2002, McCrory went out of business, causing the final demise of former TG&Y stores…
