A super hot item here. I've been collecting Supreme for years, but am selling off some of my collection. I've also worked in the film industry for about 25 years. I bought this Supreme x Levi's down vest from Robert Downey Jr.'s personal stylist, a guy named Noah Sloane.
Noah told me that somewhere around 2013 when they were doing promotion for Iron Man 3, that he was gathering some clothing for Robert to wear out on tour as he promoted the film. He went up to Levi's Haus of Strauss in West Hollywood where Levi's schmoozes with designers and outfits stars with free clothing. He said they gave him this Levi's x Supreme puffer vest for Robert to wear as he promoted the film.
He told me that Levi's told him that Supreme didn't mass produce these and that it was a concept piece, so they only had a few. I figured that out myself though, because while this particular vest has the stars on the inside like the Levi's Fall 2011 capsule vest, it has orange stitching on the outside (the FW 2011 drop had blue) and the denim is also slightly a different color. So whether this was a concept left over from 2011 or a new one that never got released in 2012 or 2013, I'm not sure, but it's a beautiful vest and I just haven't worn it and it's taking up space in my collection. My one regret is not buying the custom Nike's from Noah Sloane that were made for Iron Man 2 that Robert wore on the tonight show. Missed those and am still kicking myself to this day about that. But this vest is dope too. Not sure if or when Robert wore it in public, but Noah told me it was in his stuff.
Tag is marked small, but I think it's a pretty fitted small. I'd say it'd be more comfy as a men's XS. Just a little snug if you're on the higher end of the small chart like me. I believe the fill is real down. Doesn't say on the tag, but it's plump, so that's what I'm assuming, though I can't confirm.
